Hellooo I’ve been gone for some time, but ya girl is BACK…and with an exciting update/story!! Stick around for some insight on  some great new tunes…

So basically I have the best bff who bought me a concert ticket to HONNE earlier this month as a birthday gift! She’d only introduced me to HONNE about a month before surprising me with the tickets, and I admittedly kept putting off actually taking the time to look the band up. Well, lemme tell ya…when I finally did I was SHOOK. The opening song on their recent Love Me/ Love Me Not album completely took me by surprise and made me immediately start bopping along with the smooth electro synth and beat. I wasn’t ready for it at all. Just off my initial judgement, I assumed I was going to hear some chill indie rock and wasn’t ready for the election pop and jazz vibes I got from this duo’s sound. I instaneiusky fell in love with this album and these artists! Listened to the album on repeat so I was MORE than ready to see them live in concert when the time came.

The concert was at White Oak Music Hall, a popular venue in Houston, Texas. This was my first time visiting this venue and I was impressed and fell in love with the atmosphere of the hall the moment we stepped inside. It was small (enough) and super intimate— which made for the perfect concert experience! Their opening act was an artist called Haulm, who was the perfect precursor to HONNE, as their music styles perfectly complimented each other. By the time HONNE came on, I had been prepped and ready for the groovy, yet calming sounds that they provide their audience with. Lead singer, (blank blank), sounds EXACTLY as he does on the record and I couldn’t get over it…he was amazing. I caught myself closing my eyes through much of the concert, almost as if I was allowing my mind to create the visuals that went along with the soundtrack they were creating. The entire concert was beautiful and being there with my best friend/ favorite concert buddy made the experience even better.

So, pleaseee don’t make the same mistake I made, and take the time to check this sick duo out because they’re incredible! (We also got to meet them and they were the nicest guys ever…the accents were pretty charming too lol)

lots o’ love,

Lauren
